Covid Update
A note from Madrina // Friday, April 7th
Madrina is temporarily closed.
We’re sad to report that a member of our team has tested positive for Covid-19.
The employee’s last shift was Sunday, April 4th. They were tested on April 5th and received a positive result the next day.
The employee was not customer-facing and no other employees have tested positive or shown symptoms.
Upon learning of the result, we immediately contacted Toronto Public Health (TPH) and Telehealth for further direction. TPH informed us that we are not required to make this information public nor close the restaurant, but we have made the voluntary decision to close for an isolation period above and beyond recommendations in order to ensure we are keeping our staff and community as safe as possible.
Madrina and all Distillery Hospitality restaurants will continue to prioritize the health and safety of our guests, our teams and their families, as well as our suppliers, partners and our extended communities.
We are committed to meeting and, when we feel necessary, exceeding instructions and guidance of local government and public health organizations. We are working hard to get this right.
